I just wanted to send out my thoughts and prayers to everyone being affected by the fires this week. My husband and I had to evacuate Sunday afternoon when the fire came within 30 yards of our home in Canyon Country. We had to drive away from our home with the fire that close and no one there to put it out, not knowing if it would still be there when we returned. Looking at the damage around us, it is a miracle the fire did not reach our house knowing the conditions of the wind and lack of man power when we left…
We are home now with minimal damage to our street, and very grateful to all the brave firefighters risking their lives to keep us safe. Two of my clients this year are firefighters living in this area, and I am honored to know them, and their beautiful wives that have to be so strong all the time.
I want to let everyone know that the first thing I grabbed when I thought I would lose everything was my hard drives and my cameras! My husband grabbed all the important papers…etc. All of my clients images are backed up in multiple places anyway, but I wanted you all to know they were never in danger and are always one of my main priorities. I am, however, a little behind this week on my work because of this…
Here are some images I took when we first noticed the smoke coming over the hill, and some of the burnt hill afterwards. That is my handsome husband on our roof trying to see if the fire was coming closer, and the burnt shots are taken from my front door. I am praying for everyone who was not as lucky as we were and for those that are still in danger.
