{ Tammy + Kevin ~ engagement }

On the Sunday during the end of the fires recently, Tammy and Kevin and I did their engagement session in on the westside. Apparently all of the smoke from the fires in the valleys and Orange County were all settling in the Santa Monica area. I watched fires from my backyard for 4 days and the smoke was never as bad as it was in Santa Monica. But on a positive note it did create a very interesting quality to the light that I was definately going to exploit during this shoot. We started at Royce Hall at UCLA, where Tammy and Kevin met. Then headed to the beach for an apocalyptic looking sunset. Kevin is also a photographer and I am honored to be chosen for their wedding….

Love,
Meghan

{ Andie + Jordan ~ the wedding }

Andie and Jordan were the winners of my “Free Wedding for Charity” contest. Their wedding was in October at the beautiful Bella Victorian Vineyard in Camarillo. Their amazing cause and romantic story can be read here. Just like on my own wedding day, the rain stopped just in time for their entirely outdoor wedding. (with no backup plan!) Simply magical. And great soft cloudy light for me! They are such a warm and wonderful couple, whose family and friends obviously love them very very much. I was honored to be a part of their unique wedding day. They did such an amazing job with all the handmade details and were so relaxed and easy to work with! Thanks so much for having me, and I hope you love the images!

Love,
Meghan

I can’t take credit for this, I didn’t tell them to do this, they were just having fun in the corn!

Here is a sneak peek at Cyndie and Mark’s wedding at the Surf and Sand in Laguna Beach. It will be a few days before I get more edited, but I know that they were both (especially mark!) really excited about the shots with the awesome classic car. I hope you love them, and will put more up as soon as I can!

Thanks,
Meghan

{ A Redhead in Ashes… } Becca’s Trash the Dress

An awesome last minute idea, one of my August brides, Becca decided to to a Trash the Dress in the burnt areas by Porter Ranch. This is my third time shooting incorporating the fire affected areas and I think I may do some kind of series with them! I just really love the contrast of her soft beauty and the harsh landscape and think her natural look went perfectly. I wanted her to be without hair and makeup done so that the shoot had a more real feel while still be somewhat abstract in concept. I hope you enjoy them! Thanks for braving the cold and ash tray smell, Becca! You were awesome! I am always looking to do great unusual concept type bridal shoots ladies! So let me know if you want to do one!

Creative collaboration { The Concept Bridal }

One of my favorite things about the world of commercial art is collaborating with other talented people. Last week, a few of those talented people and I worked together on a photo shoot. I wanted to do this concept of a woodsy, earthy feel, with a dark and fantasy mood, but still beautiful. We had less than a week to put this together including all the handmade aspects which I will detail later… I am so excited about how it all came together and hope that you enjoy the images.

Brides, if you would like your very own fashion style concept piece please contact me for a custom quote and design of your once in a lifetime shoot!
