{ Janett and Wayne ~ the wedding }

Janett and Wayne and their families are some of the nicest most genuine people I have had the pleasure of working with. We really enjoyed being with them all day. Despite some of the scheduling mishaps, it was an emotional and beautiful day!! side note…(Future brides please see my coordinator recommendations in the vendor section…teehee) Seriously ladies, I am sure Janett will tell you that a good coordinator is an invaluable asset on your wedding day!! Ok, back to the handsome couple! Janett and the whole group were really natural at posing and so much fun to work with. And who doesn’t love a classic vintage Rolls Royce! What a fantastic prop to work with. Thanks so much for having me Janett and Wayne, and much blessings in your life together…

Love,
Meghan

Piah Sanchez - meghan,
I love they way you captured the happiest moments of my mom and dad’s special day…and the one embarassing moment…but hey she still had a great smile. hehe! but these are memories that we will hold forever thank you! your work is one of a kind, and hope to see you soon ;)

{ Becca and Barrett ~ the engagement }

Becca and Barrett wanted to do something a little different for their engagement session and include Becca’s other love…her horses! I grew up with horses and really loved shooting at the barn with them and felt very comfortable and connected to this shoot. Even though getting the handsome animals to pose was quite a task! A special thanks to Sarah for her help off camera! Looking forward to the wedding day, Becca and Barrett…

{ A Wedding Photographer’s Wedding }

I was so honored to be chosen for Alice and Dung’s beautiful wedding in the hills of San Francisco. It was my first time up there, and the beautiful fog in the hills was so fascinating to me. I just love the mood it creates… although it was pretty darn cold! Alice is a wonderful photographer herself, and her and her new husband Dung shoot together in San Francisco. Thanks so much for having me, it was so great to meet everyone, and I hope you enjoy the images!

Julie Weisberg - OMGosh! So you were the photographer chosen after Rob Snavely became ill. I wondered who shot Alice and Dungs wedding. You did a great job and congrats on the magazine images! How did the magazine thing happen?

{ Same great blog…new look }

Welcome! I decided to update my blog look to represent my style more. I tried to keep the same format to make it easy to navigate, but I think the new look matches the website better and from now on the images can be a little bigger too! I hope you like it and I hope to try to make time during this busy season to post more of my new work. I fumbled through the html editing myself, web design is not really my thing, but I think I did a pretty good job!! :)

Thanks for stopping by and come back soon!

Lita - Meghan, the new blog is WONDERFUL! I love the design, colors, photos…perfect as always! I enjoy purusing your site because your talent evokes such joy & emotion as I view what you’ve posted! As always, it makes me think how hard it must be for you to choose just a few to showcase! What a blessing :)

{ Love this group shot… }

Jess and Allen had a really wonderful, beautiful and emotional wedding and I really enjoyed being part of it! The Embassy Hotel in Santa Monica is a gorgeous old hotel with some fantastic light! Jess was getting ready there and we did the bridal party shots there as well. I could not resist doing this fashion inspired set up with this incredibly handsome group! I let them have a little fun too. I love how they are all looking at Jessica and laughing in their own way. I will also post some more of my favorites from the day as well pretty soon! Too many to choose!! Focus…Meghan….focus.

Thanks for stopping by,
Meghan

{ Beautiful Details }

Ahhh the beautiful details of a wedding….
I shot some details for the talented coordinator Jennifer Jackson of “Jennifer’s Event Management Company” at Fort MacArthur for one of her weddings there a few weeks ago…
What an amazing job she did with the whole set up of the day. I hope you enjoy them…and I hope you like pink!!

{ Trash the Dress…and Tux…Portrait Session }

Janice and Macky’s wedding was on March 15th, and they decided to do a sort of Trash the Dress…and the Tux…portrait session a couple weeks ago. It was really a lot of fun, and I was so glad they asked me to do it! We choose some great locations for the unique environment, and made the burnt trees around the Santa Clarita Valley into something beautiful…
Not quite as extreme of a “trash” as Reese and I did at the winery!! But very cool indeed!
I hope to post some more soon, and I promise I have been trying to keep up with my blog!!

I hope you enjoy them…

Love,
Meghan

This one is inspired by a mixture of Rene Magritte and the “American Gothic” painting…

Andie Martinez - OMG!!! these are SO cool!

I’m so excited to have you shoot our wedding… ONLY FOUR MONTHS TO GO!!!

{ Vintage Work from Ryan and Linda’s Wedding }

For every wedding based on the couple’s taste, I work on a number of the images to look like different types of aged black and white film. The nostalgia of this type of image as well as the element of timeless aesthetic, is very fitting for weddings I believe…and I love it! Here are some of the images from Ryan and Linda’s wedding in San Diego on April 18, 2008 that I have worked on. The first image with the tree is actually on top of the roof of the building with the gate in the image below it! Imagine a tree that old on top of a roof! This classic building is set to be torn down so we were very fortunate to immortalize it in their photos…

NIcky - I love, love the first one…but this whole set is wonderful. You really have the vintage thing down perfectly :). See you next week!

{ Ryan and Linda at El Cortez }

Ryan and Linda were married on April 26th in San Diego at the beautiful El Cortez hotel. They scheduled over almost an hour and a half for us to go out on the town on a photo field trip! It was so wonderful to have that much time with them to do their romantic portraits!! (hint, hint, to all the other couples with dates coming up!! More time is always better!!)
Ryan had found some locations beforehand that he really liked and we got so much variety in the portraits, it was fantastic! From the time I spent with them I noticed how genuine and in love they are…I love my job.

Here are just a few of my favorites from the day….

April 29, 2008 - 10:20 am

PhotoSmith - these are beautiful, i love your colors and tones. that second image was one of my faves, i love how serene and peaceful she looks, especially on a day filled with so much emotion and excitement. beautiful work!

April 29, 2008 - 3:27 pm

Meghan - hey, thanks so much! yes Linda was incredibly calm she looked beautiful!

Reese’s Trash the Dress Session

My awesome bride Reese is one of a kind! She was daring enough to want to trash her wedding dress at a winery smashing grapes “I Love Lucy Style” !! We did some bridal portraits around the Joseph Filippi Winery (who are amazingly nice BTW) and then brought a barrel, grapes and juice into the vineyards to have some fun!

Most of the shoot was very serious and fashionesque (is that a word?) because I thought that went really well with her fantastic and unique look and personality. Until we started smashing the grapes, then things got funny! She was up for anything, which really paid off in the photos. Oh, and she does those braids herself…wow pretty impressive!!

The bridal portrait or trash the dress sessions can be substituted for your engagement session or in addition to it after the wedding. We don’t have to destroy the dress, and can just get it dirty and/or wet…etc. Or we can just carefully put you in a unique location and be nice to your dress if you like! But either way it is a once in a lifetime idea to have some unique photos of you and your dress!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Meghan

Monique at the Disney Concert Hall

Monique Marco is an amazing stylist in Los Angeles. She specializes in sustainable style and has a holistic approach to personal image consulting. We did a really fun shoot downtown for her headshots! I mostly do weddings, but have been asked so much lately to do headshots and portraits, that I have decided to add that aspect to my business! Please see the new Headshots page for more info.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day, I was excited to do a little bit of fine art type shots towards the end as well!

Janice and Macky had a beautiful ceremony overlooking the water at La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes Estates, CA. La Venta is such a natural, classic and romantic location. It was really an amazing day. All the vendors were really nice and top notch! I enjoyed working with everyone. Janice looked so beautiful and it was wonderful how emotional Macky was throughout the day. I love an emotional groom!! Makes great photos! So did the break dancing brothers at the end of the reception!! Thank you Janice and Macky for having me as part of your day!
