{ Heather + Joe ~ Outdoor Elegance, Vintage Glamour }

This amazing wedding was such a joy to capture, the people, the locations, the details, all gorgeous!! Heather and Joe have such great taste! I LOVE a bride willing to get dressed outside for pictures! The beautiful maid of honor gave them the most amazing gift of the dove release and an incredibly touching speech to go along with it. These two truly are loved and seem to compliment each other perfectly. A special thanks to Whitney Drake of Wish Wonder Dream for coordinating this amazing event! Congratulations Heather and Joe! I wish you all the best.

{ Ferry + Irene ~ Engagement Session }

Ferry and Irene are having there wedding in their home country of Indonesia in June. I am so excited for them, but it must be so hard to plan a wedding that far away! I got married in San Diego and that was difficult at times! :) This stylish and adorable couple was really fun to work with and I am very happy with their images. After an adventure of very strict rules at Gardens of the World, we decided to head down the road to Paramount Ranch. With my new permit in hand, I just fell in love with this location. It is now my new favorite place!! The mixture of vintage editing and the couple’s modern style make this engagement session one of my favorites!

{ The Photobooth }

A new and awesome option for your reception, Meghan Aileen Photography will now be offering a “Photobooth” set up for our weddings. While not exactly a “booth” the backdrop and lights set up is more like a studio shoot with the results of a fun photobooth concept.

You can choose from the old school vintage black and white style images, or the fun and modern crisp color and black and white images. Either way this is a unique option and some really interesting memories to have!

Please email me to get more details or add this to your already booked package.

Enjoy!!! These are from Jessica and Michael’s wedding on January 18th, 2009. The bride and groom brought the fun props. You can choose to have props or no props, but it is certainly more crazy with the props! It also helps the guests loosen up in front of the camera when they have something to be silly with.

Creative collaboration { The Concept Bridal }

One of my favorite things about the world of commercial art is collaborating with other talented people. Last week, a few of those talented people and I worked together on a photo shoot. I wanted to do this concept of a woodsy, earthy feel, with a dark and fantasy mood, but still beautiful. We had less than a week to put this together including all the handmade aspects which I will detail later… I am so excited about how it all came together and hope that you enjoy the images.

Brides, if you would like your very own fashion style concept piece please contact me for a custom quote and design of your once in a lifetime shoot!

{ Vintage Work from Ryan and Linda’s Wedding }

For every wedding based on the couple’s taste, I work on a number of the images to look like different types of aged black and white film. The nostalgia of this type of image as well as the element of timeless aesthetic, is very fitting for weddings I believe…and I love it! Here are some of the images from Ryan and Linda’s wedding in San Diego on April 18, 2008 that I have worked on. The first image with the tree is actually on top of the roof of the building with the gate in the image below it! Imagine a tree that old on top of a roof! This classic building is set to be torn down so we were very fortunate to immortalize it in their photos…

This week’s favorite…

OK I couldn’t decide! Here are 2 for this week. They are both from Christina and Dave’s wedding on July 21st. First, of Christina getting her dress on… It is meant to emulate a print on canvas aged with oil and evoke warmth. The other is a portrait of the couple reminisent of an old fashioned wedding portrait. I love to hear your thoughts!

Love, Meg

Favorite fine art image of the week…

Maybe you want a piece of art to hang on your wall instead of you two smiling at the camera looking uncomfortable. That is where I come in. :)
I love to create images that make you feel warm when you look at them. I think this is one of those…
